About 800 racers participated in the November 24: Boca Raton PAL project to provide service, coffee, juice, water, and supplies for Orange Theory Half-Marathon & 5K Run Presented by Sun Capital Partners, Inc; proceeds will benefit Boca Raton PAL and other Rotary Boca Raton Sunset Scholarships projects.  Additional direct Boca Raton PAL donations may also be made on Boca Raton PAL web site.
Fifteen members of Rotary Boca Raton Sunset supported the project with funds, supplies and services; eight set up and served after the race and one member also ran the Half Marathon: Michael Flam.  Lee Barnard, Joseph Riopel, and Fred Licata took charge of making coffee until the generator ran out of gas, but several hundred cups were served.
Miriam Egan, Ana Londono and Lupe Eyde took charge of setting up the service of fruits and bagels, getting help from Interact Advisor Robin Barkes and Interact members Talisa Roberts and Chloe Joseph.
Michael Flam and Jerry Leitherer helped FitFoodz setting up their French toast service with plates, forks, knives, spoons, napkins and Sterno for warming trays.  Michael and Jerry also accepted the Appreciation Award for Rotary Boca Raton Sunset.  Our club raised $1,500 for PAL and retained $450 for Rotary Boca Raton Sunset Scholarships projects, and contributed about $1,250 in food and supplies.
